View Allowed and Blocked Websites

The Lightspeed Parent Portal’s Allowed/Blocked web activity status allows you to check which websites are permitted and which are restricted according to your school district’s filtering policies. This feature is useful to monitor your child’s online activity and engage in digital citizenship conversations. You can easily filter the results by activity type using the “Allowed” or “Blocked” tabs.

NOTE: Only your district can make changes to your school’s web content filtering policies. You will not be able to change the status of an allowed or blocked website from within the portal.

Parent Controls During After School Hours

Lightspeed allows you to pause web browsing and manage YouTube access, while at home, during after school hours. Learn more about each of these controls below.

Our district’s after school hours are set to Monday - Friday from 3:30pm to 6:00am and all day Saturday and Sunday. These dates and times apply across all schools and are in place even on student holidays.

Pause Web Browsing

Control your child’s screen time to temporarily pause web browsing on school-issued devices while at home and during after school hours for 1 hour, 3 hours, or overnight.

Manage YouTube Access

YouTube includes rich educational content and our district is diligent about monitoring access to ensure your child can access appropriate YouTube content. Even so, your child may be spending too much time on this platform and not getting homework done. With the Lightspeed Parent Portal, you can allow or block access to YouTube after school as needed.
