Welcome to American History and AP United States History. I was born in the Startown area of Catawba County. I love to tell students about what was going on in and around Catawba County when I teach history. I am married to a wonderful man and have two teenaged children at home along with 2 dogs. I have been teaching at Foard for twelve years and cannot imagine teaching anywhere else.

 I believe that history should be taught as a debate and with lots of activity.  Students in my classes learn not only specific details about history but also learn how to support an arguement. I believe history should be fun but I also believe that classes should challenge students to think and work beyond what they believe they could achieve.
