Degrees and Certifications:
I am very blessed to be serving as Principal of St. Stephens Elementary School! The students, parents, teachers and staff of SSES are WONDERFUL! I am also extremely fortunate to work alongside a group of talented educators. Our CCS principals and county leaders are exceptional!
I have been married to my husband, Whit, for 38 years. I have been blessed with four daughters, Jeannette, Katie, Whitney and Rachel. Additionally, I have seven grandchildren. Needless to say, I stay very busy!
I attended elementary and part of middle school in North Carolina. I continued with middle school and graduated high school in Rising Sun, Maryland. I returned to North Carolina to complete my undergraduate K-6 Elementary Education degree at UNCC, and went on to earn master's degrees in both Educational Administration and Curriculum/Supervision at UNCC.
I have served in many roles throughout my educational journey. In Gaston County, I served as a teacher assistant for five years, and a teacher for eight years. I left Gaston County to accept a position as a curriculum specialist in Catawba County Schools for five years. I was then hired in CCS to work as an assistant principal for 2 years before transitioning to a principal position. I have now served in a principal position for 7 years.
I can truly say that I love coming to work each day!
