Hello! My name is Jennifer Bigley and I am a 4th grade teacher teaching all subjects. I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th grades in my career and I have been teaching for 16 years. I got my Bachelor's degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio and taught in Ohio for 2 years before moving to NC. In 2017, I got my Master's degree in Educational Leadership. At St. Stephens Elementary, I serve on the Building Leadership Team. I am also the AIG Leadership Team Chairperson for our school as well as the 3rd-5th grade math lead teacher.
My mission in my classroom is to create a warm and inviting space that is safe and secure; to be a fair, creative, fun, knowledgeable, approachable, and caring teacher; to help students learn and grow; to help them to find their voices and talents and use them; and to help students recognize that they are unique, important, and fabulous! I hope to share my love of learning with my students!
I grew up in northern Ohio close to Lake Erie. I have lived in NC for 14 years and have a son named Brady and a dog named Ellie. We enjoy being outside, planting our garden, playing games, dancing, singing and having fun together.
I hope everyone has a great 2018-19 school year!
