Degrees and Certifications:
My teaching career started at Banoak Elementary School here in Catawba County. In 2005, I accepted a fifth grade position at Sherrills Ford Elementary and continue to be honored to teach in the community where I grew up. I am a graduate of Bandys High School. In 2004, received my B.A. in Elementary Education at Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. I have been at Sherrills Ford Elementary for the past twelve years and have experience teaching first, second, and fifth grades. First grade is my love! First grade is a year of tremendous growth for children and I enjoy sharing that experience with the students and their parents. My favorite part is watching students learn to read. It is a magical opportunity to see them independently put words together and make stories come to life.
Outside of school, my husband, who is also a Sherrills Ford native, and I live in Iredell County with our sons, Davis and Holden. We also have a miniature Dachshund named Lucy. I enjoy reading, traveling during summer break and spending time with my family and friends.
