    I am excited to begin my 6th year as Principal at Catawba Rosenwald. During my 20 plus years in education, in addition to my current assignment, I served four years as Assistant Principal at Hickory High School. I have served in Caldwell County as well as Catawba County as a teacher and school counselor.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from North Carolina State University, Master of Arts in Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University, and licensure in School Administration from Appalachian State University. Currently, I am enrolled in the Doctoral program in Educational Leadership at UNC-Charlotte.

I have taught elementary, middle, and high school age students. I have also taught in the community college  and university settings. I have held several administrative positions from assistant principal to college dean. 

I was born in Asheville, NC. I believe the keys to unlock doors are gained through education. I want to help young people understand that they can do anything they want to, with the proper education. My hope is to make those around me better people by living a positive example for them to model.
