I have been a teacher at SSHS since September of 2004. I am married to Mr. Tim Lovejoy and we have 5 boys together. In addition, we have 1 black lab. I am a "lateral entry" teacher who didn't initially go to college to become a teacher. I received my Bachelor's degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Computer Information Systems. In addition, I received my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was employed in the "real world" as a network engineer and then a website developer. I was a Certified Netware Engineer for a number of years and travelled around the country installing servers and the Novell Netware network operating system. In fact, I installed the very first network here at SSHS which consisted of about 10 computers in the media center. Later, I became interested in the internet and specifically webpage development. I used my background [college degree] in programming in order to acquire a job with an Internet Service Provider where I learned how to write code for use in shopping carts, online catalogs, and other online forms. I am currently certified by Strata in IT Fundamentals as well as Adobe Photoshop. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my various experiences and skills from the "real world" with my students.
