Degrees and Certifications:
Dear Parents, grandparents, and extended families,
I am so pleased that you chose Claremont Elementary for your child to begin their school career. Your child is embarking on a journey that will lead them on many roads of discovery and learning. This new adventure will be a team effort. You play an important role in your child’s education. I want you to feel free to visit the classroom anytime. I want you to share your thoughts and concerns with me. When we all work together, the children will be happy and successful.
I want to give you a little information about myself. I am married and have two, great children. I have an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from CVCC and a Bachelor’s degree in Birth to Kindergarten form Appalachian State University. I have been teaching early childhood for the past 19 years.
What children will need:
Change of clothing: shorts, top, underwear, and socks/we will change clothing with the seasons.
Shoebox and an assortment of family photos to attach to the box- This memory box comforts children when they are away from you.
Small baby blanket (2 feet by 3 feet) for naptime- Storage space is limited
Again, please know we are here to help make the first day of school a happy transition and we look forward to an exciting and fun year. Welcome!
Meet Molly, she is our classroom pet. Molly is a dwarf bunny who is one 5 years old. We need to keep the noise down in the classroom so she does not become scared.
We have a classroom jobs chart and someone will be assigned to care for Molly each week. She is so soft and her ears are one inch long.
Sincerely, Vicki Walker
