Elementary Education, BA Elementary Education, Masters (Reading, Science, Administration)
Greetings! I am Ponetta Hull, your child’s fourth-grade teacher.
For me, teaching is a natural! I am the oldest of five brothers, and sister, and the mother of two fantastic daughters. My daughters sometimes have the gift of reminding me of the challenges of being a parent. I guess one of my greatest joys is being “Gigi” (good grandma) to my grand-daughter, “Sage Marie!”
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary education, a Masters degree with a concentration in reading, and Masters Degree in Academically Gifted Education both from Lenoir-Rhyne University. In addition, I hold various other certifications in the areas of Science, Language Arts, and Mathematics. I have worked as a Literary Specialist, a Parent Coordinator, a fourth-grade teacher, a fifth-sixth-grade teacher, a fifth-grade teacher, a sixth grade teacher, and a first-grade teacher all for Catawba County Schools. In addition, I have taught Science related subjects at the Catawba Science Center, been an adjunct professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University, and a community volunteer.
I have lived most of my life in North Carolina. I love to read, sing, dance, and travel, collect postcards (both nationally/internationally), as well as consult for weddings/parties. I attend college classes regularly, and currently hold a degree in School Administration. Because of my interest in education, I have been involved with many community and professional organizations/initiatives. I am a member of my local, state, and national teacher’s organizations. I have held numerous offices and served on various commissions and committees. At the state level, North Carolina Association of Educator, I am currently serving on the Elections Committee.
In my career as a teacher, I have won many awards and have been recognized with various honors. However, my success as a parent and teacher are among my most valued and treasured accomplishments. I feel educating children has been my greatest gift to society. I will continue to strive for excellence in teaching for all my students.
Please visit our classroom anytime and get to know the other children and myself better. If you have any concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to call me (828-256-2769).
