Henry David Thoreau once wrote, "What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us.  And when you bring what is within out into the world, miracles happen."  So begins the journey to Greater...

Entering into my 10th year teaching I hold strong to the belief that inside each of us lies a greater purpose for our lives that we, far too often, don't realize.  I believe this to be true of my family, my friends, my colleagues, and my students.  Uncovering this greater purpose within myself and others is a passion that drives me and the beat to which I march on a daily basis- not seeking to do greater things, but to find greater purpose in what we do.

Each morning I enter my classroom with the same goal in mind; to prepare my students to achieve sustainable success that will carry them well beyond the 180 days they spend with me.  Success is only as sustainable as it's source, therefore I direct my focus to the source, or the heart of the matter.  In order to maximize the achievement of our students they must be equipped to give their very best.  I believe all students have gifts, talents, and intelligence but they must possess the infrastructure to support, maintain, and grow them to be sustainable over time.  My passion lies in connecting with students, seeing beyond the surface, and building on their motivation, perseverance, confidence, endurance, and grit, providing them a solid foundation on which to grow their talents and gifts.

Aside from teaching, I facilitate 4:12 Heads Up Hands Out, a youth ministry that seeks to develop and empower selfless leaders by focusing on internal assurance and spiritual growth while actively participating in outreach opportunities.  I also attend Elevation Church, Blakeney, where I serve on a volunteer team and participate in a life group.  In my down time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and exercising.
