The CHS Firebots is a robotics club and competitive team.
The club portion of the program occurs weekly during the school day allowing all students the opportunity to participate. Club members regularly work together to learn about coding, engineering careers and build various types of robots. Club members also periodically engage in on-site learning experiences to see robots in action. When possible, we also encourage members to volunteer and give back to the community at local robotics events such as the Catawba County Sumofest or the local FLL tournament.
The competitive team is the second aspect of our program. The activities and competitions we participate in every year vary depending on the skills and interests of the current club/team members as well as our current financial situation. In the past year, we have participated in WRO-USA, Google Moonbots Challenge, and Watauga Sumobots.
We are always looking for donations! When students have access to more robots, parts, and programs, we can provide better learning and competition experiences.
