Interested in transferring to a different school within our district?

Residents who would like their children to attend a Catawba County School other than their home school for the 2020-21 school year may request transfer consideration by submitting an Internal Transfer application.

Transfers will be accepted through an application process that is strictly first-come, first-served, based on availability at each school. To be eligible, families must complete the online application form that is automatically time-stamped.

Like most districts, CCS' schools are set up in what are called feeder patterns.  These patterns group certain elementary schools together and students from those schools go to the same middle school.  The same is true for grouping middle schools together for going on to high school. When a student progresses from 6th to 7th grade, they have to reapply if they want to follow along with their school's feeder pattern, unless they already live in that middle school's attendance boundary. The same is true for students moving from middle to high school (8th to 9th grade).

What is required? Parents of students entering grades 1 - 12 will be required to provide 2019-2020 grades, attendance history, and discipline records within one week of submitting their application. You can submit the information email or in-person at the CCS Center for Administrative Services.

Tuition for students who live outside Catawba County who is approved? The tuition amount for the 2020-2021 school year is $1,741.  Tuition is required each year, per student, and due 14 days prior to the first day of school.  It is FREE for students who live in Catawba County.

If your transfer is approved, you will receive an approval letter that will have instructions on what to do next, including instructions about how to submit payment for out-of-district students.
