Catawba County Schools Welcomes Angie Davis as New Chief Financial Officer

NEWTON, November 27, 2024 – Catawba County Schools Superintendent Dr. Matt Stover proudly announced the appointment of Angie Davis as the district’s new Chief Financial Officer, filling the position vacated by Karla Aldridge, who is retiring after 32 years of dedicated service. The school board confirmed Davis’s selection at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.

“Catawba County Schools has been fortunate to have the leadership, knowledge, and hard work of our current CFO, Karla Aldridge, over the past eleven years,” said Dr. Stover. “She has been a huge asset to the financial stability of our school system, and we will greatly miss her as she begins her well-deserved retirement. It was important to find an experienced CFO to replace Mrs. Aldridge, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the appointment of Mrs. Angie Davis.”

Mrs. Davis brings nearly two decades of experience in public school finance to her new role. Her career includes extensive experience in finance and payroll within several North Carolina school districts, including Alexander County, Iredell-Statesville, and Mooresville Graded School District. A proud graduate of Maiden High School and a product of Catawba County Schools, Mrs. Davis is excited to return to serve the district that shaped her educational journey.

“I am excited to serve the district that helped me cultivate a love for learning and personal growth,” said Mrs. Davis. “I am passionate about public schools, as one of the pillars of our society, and the financial responsibility we have to our staff, students, and community.”

Dr. Stover added, “Mrs. Davis worked in Catawba County Schools and had a passion to return because of her desire to serve in the district where she was educated. She had the opportunity to learn under Mrs. Aldridge, and with her expertise gained from other districts, she will be an asset to Catawba County Schools. We are thankful she has decided to return home to serve and lead where she used to be a student! She is an excellent example of how our Catawba County graduates are among the best and brightest, and she chose to come back!”
