Catawba County Schools, North Carolina, is seeking bids from contractors for the above
referenced project.

Project Description: Currently, the existing lighting fixtures at each facility are served from an
electrical panel in a NEMA 3R, weather-resistant enclosure located at the pole top platform.
Fixtures are connected to the electrical panel & breakers via outdoor rated, weather-resistant
flexible cord connected to the bottom of the panel with weather-tight strain relief connectors.
On/Off controls are via a remote breaker serving this panel mounted on the pole top platform.
The pole top panel and the breaker feeding it shall remain as is and be used to serve the new
LED lighting fixtures.

All existing bracket-mounted lighting fixtures and flexible cord connections shall be
removed completely. New LED fixtures shall be installed on the existing steel supports, aimed as
required to cover the athletic field and reconnected to the electrical panel. New connections
shall be via weather and sunlight resistant flexible cord, rated and sized for the
load/overcurrent protection.
All existing lighting fixtures and associated equipment being removed shall be turned over to
the owner for retention or disposal.

Mandatory Prebid Meeting: A Mandatory Prebid meeting for all bidders will be held on
Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bunker Hill High School Media Center, 4675
Oxford School Rd, Claremont, North Carolina 28610.

Bid Submittal and Opening: Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date
at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the
Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:

Bid Date: Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Bid Time: 2:00 p.m., local time.
Location: Catawba County Schools Maintenance Dept. Building Break Room located at
2500 North College Avenue, Newton, NC 28658.

Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.

The Catawba County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to
waive informalities and irregularities.
