If you would like your child to attend a Catawba County School other than their home school for the 2021-22 school year, you may request transfer consideration by submitting an application during the designated application period.
Transfers will be accepted through an application process that is strictly first-come, first-served, based on availability at each school. To be eligible, families must complete the online application form that is automatically time-stamped between June 7, 2021, and July 31, 2021.
What is required?
Parents of students entering grades 1 - 12 will be required to provide 2020-2021 grades, attendance history, and discipline records within one week of submitting their application. You can submit the information via email or in-person at the CCS Center for Administrative Services.
What is the tuition for students who live outside Catawba County?
The tuition amount for the 2021-2022 school year is $1,776. Tuition is required each year, per student, and due 14 days prior to the first day of school. It is FREE for students who live in Catawba County.
What do I do if my student transfer is approved?
If your transfer is approved, you will receive an approval letter that will have instructions on what to do next, including instructions about how to submit payment for out-of-district students.
Do I need to reapply each year after I've initially been accepted?
You only need to reapply between 6th and 7th and 8th and 9th.
Like most districts, CCS schools are set up in what are called feeder patterns. These patterns group certain elementary schools together and students from those schools go to the same middle school. The same is true for grouping middle schools together for going on to high school. When a student progresses from 6th to 7th grade, they have to reapply if they want to follow along with their school's feeder pattern, unless they already live in that middle school's attendance boundary. The same is true for students moving from middle to high school (8th to 9th grade).
