Changes Beginning April 12th for All In-Person Students

Here are the top 7 things you need to know from this message:

  1. All in-person students in grades K-12 will return to in-person learning Monday - Thursday, beginning April 12th.

  2. 100% virtual students will remain 100% virtual.

  3. Face coverings are still required.

  4. We will continue symptom screenings, but not temperature checks for students, per updated guidance from the CDC and the NC DHHS K-12 Public Health Toolkit.

Also, per updated guidance, we have added three additional COVID-19 symptoms to the screening questions: diarrhea, vomiting, and new onset of severe headache.

  5. It's more important than ever for you to keep your child at home if they are sick. It's a tricky time of year with allergies and sniffles, but with us having twice the number of students in grades 6-12, there is a higher chance that quarantines will occur. Please check the updated COVID-19 Symptom Screening Questions before sending your child to school.

  6. Beginning April 12, we will be offering Curbside Grab-n-Go Meals at only 5 schools

  7. There is no school on Friday, April 2nd through Friday, April 9th, for Spring Break.

Your principals will be in touch with any changes specific to your school. We look forward to seeing all our students back on April 12th. I hope you and your families have a wonderful Easter and Spring Break!

Sincerely,

Matt Stover
Superintendent
