Within 30 days of your initial hire date or if you experience a qualifying life event. (You have 30 days from that date to enroll.) 

The effective date for new employees is the first day of the month following their date of employment, or the first day of the second month.

You would need to log in to your eBenefits and waive/ decline the offer of coverage within 30 days of your hire date.

You can make any changes to your plan during our annual open enrollment period, usually in October or November.  If you experience a qualifying life event (QLE) such as a birth, marriage, or loss of other group coverage, you can request a change mid plan year.  The QLE request must be made within 30 days of that life event.

COBRA allows employees to continue coverage for up to 18 months after separation.  Continuation of coverage is paid by the member, and rates are 2% higher than normal group rates.
