    Tuesday April 25, 2017 - K & 1st Grade

    Wednesday April 26, 2017 - 4th & 5th Grade

    Thursday April 27, 2017 - 2nd & 3rd Grade

    Friday April 28, 2017 - 6th Grade

     

     

    Volunteers will be needed for each day. You have the option to work half a day or all day. You may work multiple days as well. The day will be divided into 2 shifts. Morning shift is 9:00 – 11:30 and afternoon shift is 12:45-2:00. Please report to the gym or outside behind school at least 15 minutes before your shift begins to receive your station assignment.  You will most likely be running a station and they are all very easy. Please bring a phone or wear a watch to keep time. If you are interested in helping out on this fun day and supporting our students, please fill out and return the bottom half of this sheet or call the school, (828-294-2020) and ask for the PE teacher Mrs. Smith. If you do not get an answer, leave a voicemail with your name and phone number.  You may also email caroline_niederhamme@catawbaschools.net   Thank you in advance for all of your help!     Field Day Reminders:

    Our field day will be divided into two parts. In the morning your child will have several events and running will be involved, so students will need to wear tennis shoes.  The afternoon session will involve several water events and students will get wet/muddy, so please dress your child in “play clothes.”  We will be eating lunch in the room in between the two events.

     At home: 

    1. Dress your child in comfortable play clothes (must follow dress code) that you don’t mind getting dirty and have your child wear tennis shoes-ones that can get dirty.
    2. Apply sunscreen to your child at home. (We cannot apply at school.  Your child may wear a hat)

    Bring to school:

    1. a large towel to sit on and later use to dry off. (Recommend writing name on towel)
    2. water bottle with twist top lid. (may bring two, one for morning and one for afternoon.  Write name on bottle.)
    3. complete change of clothes. We will only change clothes after all events are done.  Please send extra clothes in a plastic bag, so when students change out of wet clothes they can put into the plastic bag.   If you wish students may bring water shoes for the afternoon activities but no flip flops are allowed for safety reasons.  If you have your child play all day in the same pair of tennis shoes, you may want to send a second dry pair.
