    Why Startown?

I know you might think this question odd, but this is a question that comes to my mind when I think about all of the options you, as parents, have in selecting where and how your child is educated. As the lead learner here at Startown, and as an alum, I would love to answer that question for you, at least from my perspective.

Startown Elementary School has a long standing tradition (historic, even!) of being the hub of this caring community. Our school is truly an integral part of this community, and we see ourselves as a family. As a part of this, we not only strive to provide excellent academic opportunities to prepare our children for future success, but we also have a strong focus on teaching our students to #bethechange, to engage in service learning and to care about others for the betterment of our community and our world. At Startown we value tradition, but at the same time seek to provide innovative learning opportunities for our children through STEM learning, coding, the arts, fitness, MakerSpace, Problem-Based Learning, and a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular clubs and activities to engage and develop the whole child. Daily, our children recite our belief statement:

"We believe Startown School is a safe and nurturing place where everyone will learn, grow, and be responsible citizens. We respect each other's differences and help each other reach for success."

We don't simply say this, we live it. So when I ask, "Why Startown?" I hope you will be able to answer that you cannot imagine a better place to educate your child. Thank you for choosing us and for helping make us the very best place to work and learn. Continue to follow us on Facebook at We Love Startown!  Follow our story on Instagram @StartownTigers. Thanks again for all you do, and remember, EVERY DAY is a great day to be a Startown Tiger!
