ROTC Speaker  1/6/2012 3:36 PM

Captain Randy Cash, US Navy Retired addressed two of St Stephens High School Naval Junior ROTC classes yesterday.  The purpose of his visit was to share some stories of his service so that we can nominate him for the Elks Lodge Exceptional Service Person of the Year.  He completed 30 years of service as a US Navy Chaplain that included service in Iraq and Afghanistan during the current conflicts. He wowed us with stories about serving the troops and detainees at Guantanamo Bay Cuba during the great Haitian Migration when 35,000 refugees were at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay.  His personal and family sacrifices were great and we were able to find many of the traits reflected in General MacArthur's Farewell speech to West Point.  He currently serves as the North Carolina Chaplain to the American Legion.
