Purpose:
1. To recognize and honor excellence in career and technical education.
2. To encourage students to reach for higher levels of achievement, develop self-esteem and pride.
3. To champion a stronger, more positive image for career and technical education in America.
4. To promote critical work place values-- skill development, honesty, responsibility, service, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership.
5. To help member schools and colleges build and maintain effective partnerships with local business and industry.
6. To provide greater career opportunities for the NTHS membership
7. To promote educational excellence in America.

Attendance:
If a student is verifiably absent from a NTHS meeting (i.e., class at CVCC, conflict with another school obligation, etc.) the following policy will apply: The absence will be excused if the NTHS member talks to an advisor prior to (or the day of) the missed meeting. the absence must be explained, approved and obtain any information distributed at the meeting.
If a member is 10 or more minutes late for a meeting, they will be counted absent.
The National Technical Honor Society is a non-profit, educational organization established to honor excellence in career and technical education. Student candidates must meet national and local membership standards and should be persons who have demonstrated scholastic achievement, skill development, leadership, honesty, responsibility, and good character. Membership in a career/technical student organization (CTSO) is important to leadership development and career preparation and therefore, strongly encouraged.
