Mercia Barringer
EDUCATION
Mrs. Barringer joined the SSHS counseling staff during the 2011/2012 school year. Her undergraduate degree is from Appalachian State University in Reading Education K-12. Mrs. Barringer taught reading until obtaining Masters degree in School Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She has spent over 27 years in education. Her counseling career began at Newton-Conover High School and then St. Stephens High School and most recently at Hickory High School. She is on her "second run" as a counselor at St. Stephens High School.
