About Us
Rosenwald is a Public Separate School licensed for grades 6-12. The population served is identified as Special Education. Students who are enrolled at Rosenwald are done so by an IEP team. A student's length of stay is also determined by the IEP team. Rosenwald has several teachers who are highly qualified across the curriculum. One class is a designated cluster class which primarily serves IDMI, SED, OHI, and PDD types of diagnosis. The Middle School students are self-contained in a 6-8 grade combination, while High School students follow a block schedule. All follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Rosenwald has a Day Treatment component that we call our Life Coach Program, however not every student qualifies for the program. Students are invited into this part of the school after a referral process has been completed. Part of our day has been set aside for this purpose. Students who are not in the Life Coach Program have time in a behavior review class twice a day.
