The Accelerated Reader program provides teachers and students with a fun and exciting way to promote reading at home and in the classroom. A wide variety of books are marked with neon pink or orange dots on the spine in the River Bend Media Center to indicate that they are AR books. Students may read AR books and take the associated ten or twenty question test to earn points. AR is a great way to increase reading comprehension while students are introduced to outstanding new literature and the classics. Several of River Bend's teachers require AR tests each nine weeks while others count AR quizzes as extra credit. So, keep your nose in those books!!!
