March is Mystery Month in Mrs. Lamb's room

Each reader became a reading detective as we read Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Slippery Salamander We kept track of the suspects and clues with our case files*. At the end of the unit, we completed a "One Hour Mystery". These can be found in either book below. We chose The Forged Houdini because we had just read The Houdini Box.   Each student was placed in a group. We did discovered the crime together then each group worked together to gather each clue. When students told Detective Lamb the correct answer to a clue, they received the next clue in an envelope. Eventually all was solved!       and here are examples of the March book project
