Our quail eggs will arrive on April 30th! Stay tuned!!

Welcome to Lamb's Hatchery!
On March 23 our 24 chicken eggs arrived and were placed in our incubator. Our fist thought is that they were Easter eggs! They are all sorts of species of chicks, so each egg is a little different. Absolutely gorgeous! After 21 days we had a potpourri of chickies!

 Egg Turners

8 students are chosen each day. A pair of "chick chums" wash their hands, turn-roll each egg to X or to O, then wash again. We keep track on the board.

Incubation

We are lucky to have a local 4-H club who loans an incubator and gives each interested class 18-24 fertilized eggs.

The Eggs

All we know is that the incubation period is 21 days! We won't know the species until then!

Hatch Day!

Around April 14, our chicks should begin hatching. We will leave them in the warmth until each is dry. Then they will move to the brooder for a week when we return them to the farm.
