I am excited to use a writing workshop setup modeled after the work of Jennifer Jacobson's No More "I'm Done". Each day we will participate in Writing Workshop for about 30 minutes. This will begin with our last lesson in the Daily 5.
Our Workshop Schedule:
Mini-lesson
Mini lessons will be based on the following areas: Clicking the areas will take you to my favorite website for writing-Writing Fix!

Quiet 10
This is 10 minutes of quiet! You will hear soft music while you are engaged in pre-writing activities: you may plan, draw, or think about your writing. I will not be conferencing at this time-I'll be writing too!
Independent Writing Time
During this time I will call over students who have signed up to conference about their writing. Everyone else will be working in their Writer’s Notebooks on their own writing. My students choose what they want to write. By allowing for choice, we are growing as independent writers who WANT to write!
Author's Chair
Each day 2 or 3 students will hop into our special Author's Chair. Author's Chair is the final step in the writing process. It is an opportunity for the writer to receive positive feedback from their classmates. The student in the author's chair reads aloud a selected piece of their own writing. Peers then have an opportunity to respond to what is read aloud and ask questions.
