Welcome! This year is my eighth year teaching at Oxford, and my first in 2nd grade! My mom also taught here for more than 2 decades! I attended Oxford Elementary School, so teaching here is very special to me. I graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1999 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2003. I earned a Master's Degree in Reading Education from Appalachian State University in Feb. of 2008. I have also completed 180 hours of classes to earn my state licensure to teach Academically/Intellectually Gifted students.
I admit I am also addicted to playing with my webpage! I am webmaster for the school's as well and am very proud of how it looks. In 2007 I won NCAECT's (now NCTIES) "Best Teacher Website" award for the entire state! Here you can read all about it. Currently I am working on my National Board certification.
