I was born and raised in Conover, NC.  I started playing the piano with I was four years old.  I then started taking piano lessons at age 5 and continued them through high school.  I played in the band in high school.  During marching season, I was the drum major.  During the winter/spring season, I played the oboe.  I practiced the oboe and became really good at it.  I went to college on a muisc scholarship at Winthrop University, NC.  I later recieved my Masters in Education of Divergent Learning from Columbia College, SC.  I later then moved back to NC and am currently working on obtaining my National Board Certification this year. 

I have been teaching for 7 years.  I am married with a 4 year son and 2 year old daughter.  My favorite thing to do besides play music is reading good books, and jumping on the trampoline with my children.  I also love to travel!
