All About Mrs. White

My name is Mrs. Kellie White (formerly known as Ms. Headley) and I am so excited to start my 6th year here at Oxford Elementary School.

I married the love of my life on June 5th, 2009 and we bought a house in Statesville so I could be closer to Oxford. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration of Special Education from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. I am also certified in the elementary grades of K-6. I went through the process of National Board Certification last year so I am waiting to here the results in November of this year.

During my years at LHU, I have worked with students in various grade levels and worked in a child care facility for four years while completing my degree. Since my graduation in May of 2005, I have taught in Philadelphia as a Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher. I then moved to NC to take on a first grade teaching position and absolutely loved it. I taught first grade for 4 years and now 3rd for 2 years.

My entire family lives up north. I grew up in a small town near Scranton, PA called Greeley (where my parents still live). I have 3 sisters (who are all married). I can now include a sister in-law and brother in-law. I am also blessed with 3 beautiful nieces, Rachel (12 years old), Sarah (8 years old) and our new addition Addyson (1 year), and 2 nephews, Alexander (3 years old), who is also my godson and Levi (6 years old). I miss my family every day but I seem to have settled and made a new home in North Carolina.
