What's Going On This Week-

Math- finding the value of x and writing equations

Example-

x + 16 = 42

What is the value of x?

Please write the equation for the expression: "5 less than three times a number"

Reading- finishing up Tia Lola; Hispanic Food Celebration on Friday, March 19th

***Please make sure you are going over your child's math homework each week.  This is crucial to learning.

 

 Items for students to think about this week...
 Math:
-What is order of operations?
-What is the associate property?
-What is the commutative property?
-What is the distributive property?
-What is the identity property?
-What is the difference between the zero property of the property of zero?
-Solve for x: x + 21 = 49
-Solve for x: 19 - x = 7 
 
 
Reading:
-Describe the plot in the novel Tia Lola.
-Describe the plot in your independent novel.
 
Word Sorts:  Learn new words.  Practice writing the vowels in green and the consonants in red.  See if you notice any patterns in your words.
