In Chorus Class, students will learn how to sing in a group as well as singing in harmony. They will also learn proper diction, posture, breathing, correct vowel production, singing rounds and canons, music notation, music reading skills, music terminology, rhythms, and sight-singing. There will be a mandatory concert performance at the end of each semester to give parents and community the opportunity to see and hear the young musicians on stage presenting their newly acquired musical abilities.
In Handbell Class, students will learn how to hold, ring, and damp a handbell, as well as learning music reading skills, music notation, handbell notation, music terminology, handbell techniques, rhythms, and sight-reading. There will be a mandatory concert performance at the end of each semester to give parents and community the opportunity to see and hear the young musicians on stage and presenting their newly acquired musical abilities.
In Piano Class, students will learn correct posture, hand position, the keyboard, major five-finger patterns, chords, major scales, music notation, music terminology, pedal techniques, rhythms, and sight-reading. There will be a recital at the end of the semester to give parents and community the opportunity to see and hear the young pianists on stage and presenting their newly acquired musical talents and abilities.
