Kindergarten Eligibility Date Changes 

2009-2010 School Year

The state of North Carolina has made changes to the eligibility dates for children entering kindergarten.  Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, students attending kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2009.

This is a change to the current Oct 16 cut-off date. House Bill 150 changed the General Statue 115C-364 which changed the cut-off date to August 31, 2009.
