We took a virtual field trip to the Blue Plains Waste Water Treatment Plant and then began discussion about what happens to our water if we have private wells, not city water (see web links for virtual tour and septic tank animations) and class documents for the power point notes on wastewater ( 11 slides) |

Looked at links to wastewater management in a septic tank and a "Dirty Jobs" video to learn how a septic tank should look and what's involved in cleaning one! W e compared waste water treatment plant filtering of water to septic tank filtering. We worked in groups to do an activity called "Odd One Out." The groups worked to select which term or concept didn't fit with the group and why - there are many correct answers if you know your science and can justify your answers! Homework was collected! |
