Taylor McDaniel teaches Physics, Chemistry and Physical Science here at Foard. He went to the University of Georgia and East Carolina University. Before working at Foard he was a teacher in Georgia, Alaska and Freedom High.
He likes mountain biking, marathons, tennis, racquetball and golf. When asked what he liked most about Foard he replied, "the student work ethic, and welcoming staff." | |

Brad Danner, a Hickory native and 1992 FTF alumnus, teaches Science and P.E. here at Foard. He received his bachelor’s degree from Campbell University and his master’s from West Virginia University. He is in his 13th year teaching. Coach Danner is an assistant coach for CVCC Women’s Basketball team.
In his spare time, Mr. Danner enjoys Sci. Fi. movies, reading, sports, and music. He is married to Fonda (a Foard graduate) and they have a daughter, Anika, and a son Cayson.

Lester Moats teaches Biology, Physical Science and Earth Science. He was born in Jefferson County, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia. He has been teaching for 24 years and taught at many other schools including: Louisville High in Georgia, North Surry High, St. Stephens High, Forks Junior/Senior High in Washington, Blackburn Middle, and Catawba County Mid Tech. In his free time Mr. Moats enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He also enjoys pulling for his favorite team the University of Georgia. His wife Vicki teaches here at Foard. Their children are Eric, Robin, Brentley, and Charla and their grandchildren are Dylan, Ethan, Jasmine, and Nathan.

Carol Foote teaches Earth Science. She was born in Seattle, Washington and attended Florida University, and Florida Atlantic University International. Ms. Foote has been teaching for seven years. She is the advisor for the Envirothon team.
In her free time she enjoys playing with her dachshund puppy, Molly, snow skiing, golfing, camping, gardening, cooking, hiking and reading. She is married to Jim and they have three children and two grandchildren, one dog, one cat, and fish. Her favorite pro team is the Carolina Panthers.
Her favorite things about Foard are the students, staff, and parents. | |

Patricia Hayes teaches Zoology, Biology, Physical Science, Earth Science, and Intro Biology. She was born in Lincoln County and attended ASU and Pfeiffer. She has been teaching for 28 years and previously taught in schools in Charleston, SC and Greenville, SC. She is an advisor for the Envirothon team.
In her free time Mrs. Hayes enjoys gardening, mowing grass, working outside, singing in the choir, and working with the elderly at church and in rest homes. She has three children Stephanie who is married and works in marketing for IN University, Brian who is married and is a lawyer in Concord, NC, and Michelle who is married and is an Interior Designer in Charlotte. She has a new grandchild Alexis.
Her favorite thing about Foard is the students. She says “the students are alert, intelligent, and fun to talk to, the students keep me young!” | |

Mr. Shawn Josey teaches Biology and Earth Science. He graduated from Appalachian State in 1994. His favorite thing at FTF is the sunset behind the school. Mr. Josey likes to play golf and tennis and enjoys hiking, whitewater rafting, listening to music, throwing darts, and spending time with the ones he loves. He feels everyone should smile and laugh because it is good for the soul. | |

Heather Houston teaches Honors Chemistry, Honors Biology, AP Environmental Science, and Chemistry. She was born in Catawba, NC and attended UNC-Chapel Hill. Ms. Houston has been teaching for 4 years. She is a coach for the Science Olympiad team.
In her free time Ms. Houston enjoys reading mysteries, painting, cooking, and walking her dogs. She is married to Rodney and they have two dogs and one son. Her favorite team is UNC-Chapel Hill.
Ms. Houston’s favorite things about Foard are the staff and the students. She says “Everyone is incredibly nice to work with.”
