 Mrs. Floyd

Betty Floyd is a counselor in the guidance department at Fred T Foard High School and serves students with last names D-L.
 
Mrs. Floyd attended Lander University in South Carolina where she received an undergradute degree in social sciences. She also attended Lenoir Rhyne Univerity in Hickory, North Carolina for her masters in Counselor Education. Before coming to Fred T Foard she taught in the social studies department at EBHS for nine years, was a school counselor at EBHS for 6 years, and worked for Caldwell County Schools for three years.
 
 
Mrs. Floyd loves reading or spending time with her son Matt and her daughter Rebecca. She also enjoys playing with her dogs Mayzie and Chynna.
 
When asked what she liked most about Foard Mrs. Floyd said the high standards, professionalism, and the students make Foard a great place to work.
 
 

 Mr. Ruggeiero

David Ruggiero is a counselor in the guidance department at Fred T Foard and serves students with the last names A-C and T-Z.
 
He attended Kean University In Union, NJ which is also his hometown. He majored in Early childhood education and english. He graduated in 2001. He completed his masters from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ for counseling in May 2009. Before working at Foard he taught Language arts and English at Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, NJ. The school had almost 6000 kids! He moved to NC in 2007. He taught Honors English at North Lincoln High School and counseled at Foard in 08-09. From 09-10 He taught English at Bunker Hill High School and is now back at Fred T. Foard.
 
Mr. Ruggiero loves to watch movies, read, and cook. Barnes & Nobles is a second home to him. He also enjoys selling electronics at his second job working at Best Buy in Hickory. He also has a son Micheal Joseph who was born on April 30, 2010 and he enjoys spending all of his free time with him and his wife, Paula.
 
When asked what he liked most about Foard, he replied "The faculty as a whole for making me feel welcome here, the wonderful students, and the supportive counseling group to whom I owe many thanks for allowing me to return this year!
 
 

 Ms. Carter

Carrie Carter is a counselor in our guidance department and serves students with last names M-S.
 
Ms. Carter attended Lenoir-Rhyne College and received received a B.A. in Human & Community Services in 2006. She received a Master's Degree in Community Counseling with School Licensure from Lenoir Rhyne University in 2008.  Before beginning work at Foard, Ms. Carter worked Intensive In-Home Services at Family NET. Ms. Carter enjoys working with the great students and faculty at Foard.  She is also the assistant Varsity Women's basketball coach.
 

In her free time Ms. Carter enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, reading, and watching Carolina basketball.
