 Ms. Iriarte

Leonor Iriarte teaches Spanish I, II, and III.  She was born in Colombia, South America and attended Lenoir-Rhyne for her undergraduate degree and Appalachian State University for her masters degree.  Ms Iriarte has been teaching for 20 years in Catawba County and has taught at several other schools including:  Mt. View Elementary, Maiden High, Arndt Middle and St. Stephens High School.  Ms. Iriarte is an advisor for the Spanish club.

In her free time Ms Iriarte enjoys horseback riding, jogging, and just being outdoors.  Her favorite things about Foard are the student’s enthusiasm and creativity and the Faculty’s friendliness and support.

Alison Yount teaches Spanish.  She attended Western Carolina University where she received her Spanish Education Degree in 2002.  

In her free time Ms. Yount likes to run, travel, and play volleyball.

When asked about her favorite thing here at Foard is she said, "I like the students and the other staff."

Tammy Cordeiro teaches French 1-5. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne College.  Before coming to Foard she taught French at Sweetwater Elementary and Blackburn Middle.  Also she worked at Jacobs Fork Middle teaching French and Dance.

She likes reading, music, scrapbooking and hiking.  When asked what she liked most about Foard, she replied "the students here are great!"

Vicki Moats is the ESL teacher here at Foard.  She was born in Catawba County, and attended UNC-G.  She has been teaching for over 30 years at many schools including Blackburn, JFMS, Tuttle, and Arndt in Catawba County, Wiley Lab School in Winston-Salem, and Forks Middle and High School in Washington State.  She is an advisor for the International Club.

In her free time Ms. Moats enjoys reading, working in her garden, watching TV, playing computer games, writing, and doing little projects around the house.  She also enjoys pulling for her favorite team UNC-Chapel Hill.  Her husband, Lester Moats teaches science here.  They have a son who spent four years in the Marine Corps and now is a senior at Chapel Hill.  Their daughter has her Master's in Accounting and works for Wachovia in Charlotte.

Ms. Moats’ favorite thing about Foard is the people.  She says, “I could not ask for a better group of people to work with than this faculty.  I really enjoy my students also.  I think we have a real sense of community here.  When I read about such horrible situations in other places, I am very thankful to be here at Foard.”
