 Mr. Carter

Jamey Carter teaches Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Career Management, and Marketing at Fred T. Foard. He graduated from Catawba College in 2003 with a Business Administration degree with a minor in Communications. Before coming to Foard, Mr. Carter taught for one year at South Davidson High and for five years at St. Stephens High School.

In his spare time, Mr. Carter loves to hang out with the most beautiful person in the world aka his soon-to-be wife Stephanie and play golf as often as possible. His favorite things about Foard are the well behaved, respectful students and the staff; he finds Coach Cadle and Coach Windham to be exceptionally helpful!

 Mrs. Hanna

 Jane Redding Hanna attended High Point University graduating in 2003 with a BS in Computer Information Systems. She also attended East Carolina University for a second degree in FACS. Before coming to work at Foard Mrs. Hanna worked for Hanesbrands for 19 years and at North Gaston High School for 2 years. This is her first year at Foard teaching Foods I and Foods II Advanced.

In Mrs. Hanna's free time she enjoys sewing, baking, machine embroidery, and making prayer quilts for her quilt ministry at church. She is married and has a daughter, two stepsons, and three beautiful grandchildren. Her favorite thing about Foard is the willingness of the students to learn. She also appreciates how respectful staff and students are.

 Mrs. Hovis

Audrey Hovis is a Family and Consumer Science Teacher. She has been teaching for three years here at Foard and loves the subjects she teaches, which are Foods 1 and 2 and Parenting and Child Development. She graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and currently lives in Lincolnton.
 
She has been married to her husband for 5 years and they currently have a 4 year old son. Her hobbies are photography, cooking, church activities, and traveling with her family.

 Mrs. Canipe

Kim Canipe teaches business classes. She teaches Computer Apps. I, Networking I, and e-Commerce I. She was born right here in Catawba County and attended Appalachian State University. She has been teaching for six years and previously taught at Maiden for one semester. Ms. Canipe is the Quiz Bowl team’s coach.

In her free time Ms. Canipe enjoys yard work and traveling. She has been married for 27 years and has one daughter who is also a teacher.  Her son attends college in Washington D.C. Her favorite teams are NCSU, ASU and FTFHS.

Ms. Canipe’s favorite things about Foard are the students and staff. She says “they are GREAT!”

 Mrs. Shuffler

Whitney Shuffler attended Appalachian State University. She majored in Interior Design and graduated in December 2006. Before working at Foard, she worked as a Commercial Designer for 2 years.

She has been working at Foard for 2 years and teaches Foods and Nutrition 1 and Parenting and Child Development. She likes the sense of community most at Foard.

Her hobbies are kayaking, volleyball, and crafting. She was just married July 18, 2009.

Adam Windham is a business teacher here at Foard. He teacher Career Management and Digital Communication Systems. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelors in Business Education in 2007, and obtained his Master in Curriculum Specialist in 2008. Before coming to Foard Mr. Windham taught at Northview Middle School and Grandview Middle School.

Mr Windham's favorite favorite thing about Foard is the friendly staff and hardworking students.

In his free time he enjoys watching Appalachian State Football

 First Sergeant William Thiel Jr

  

1SG William Thiel Jr is a JROTC teacher here at Foard. He attended Central Texas College and majored in Business Administration and Management and is presently working on degree in Educational Studies/Teaching from Fort Hayes State University1SG Thiel retired from active duty (Army) with over 20 years of service as a First Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft Bragg, NC. 1SG Thiel started working at Foard in Jan 09.  He teaches JROTC "To motivate young people to be better citizens." 

In his free time 1SG Thiel enjoys playing golf, collecting sports memorabilia, watch sports (favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers), and spend time with his family. When asked  what he likes most about Foard and he replied, "Our students and faculty."

1SG Thiel  has been married over twenty years to his high school sweetheart, they have two daughters. Kaitlyn who will graduate from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009 and Kiersten a seventh grader at Jacobs Fork Middle School.

 Mrs. Davis

Jeanne Davis is a business teacher.  She was born in Catawba County and attended Lenoir-Rhyne for her Business Education Degree.  She recently received her Masters in Instructional Technology from ASU. She has been teaching for 13 years. 

In her free time Ms. Davis enjoys shopping, reading and spending time with her family.  She also enjoys pulling for her favorite teams the Carolina Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers.  She and her husband Reece have two sons Jansen and Drew.  Ms. Davis loves teaching at Foard because the students are intelligent and respectful.

 Mr. Cadle

Daniel Cadle, who teaches in our Business Department. He has been teaching for 6 years at Foard and also coaches JV Baseball. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University. He is a huge fan of the Appalachian State Football team. He is also a UNC Tarheel basketball fan.

Other than playing and watching sports, Mr. Cadle enjoys spending time with his new son Carter and his wife, Natalie.

Mr. Cadle likes the students and faculty best at Foard.

 Lieutenant Colonel Crowe

Lieutenant Colonel Crowe Steven Crowe is a JROTC teacher here at Foard.  He was born in North Carolina and attended Appalachian State University.  Lieutenant Colonel Crowe has been teaching for two years and is also the cross-country coach.  He is also an advisor for the JROTC Color Guard and Raider Team. 

In his free time Lieutenant Colonel Crowe enjoys running, playing golf, and practicing martial arts.  His favorite thing about Foard is the students.

 Mr. Greene

Mr. Greene is a masonry teacher here at Foard.  Before teaching, Mr. Greene owned his own business.  He now teaches Masonry I and II.  He feels the faculty at Foard is excellent and the students here are outstanding.  His hobbies include hunting, water sports, and spending time with his family.  He has two children, Seth and Chloe.

Lisa Hefner has a nursing degree from UNC-Charlotte and a teaching degree from N.C. State.  She has began working in Catawba County Schools in 1999 and teaches Allied Health Sciences I and II here at Foard. In addition, CNA I training is an optional, portion of the curriculum. She is also the advisor of the HOSA club which meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month.  Her favorite college team are ECU Football, UNC CH-Basketball.

In her spare time she enjoys listening to Blues music, traveling to Blues festivals and spending time with her daughters. Moreover, one of her daughters attends ECU and the other one attends UNC Chapel Hill. Ms. Hefner  also enjoys her church activities and works with 2 and 3 year olds on Wednesday nights.

Timothy Koch graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in English (1991) and B.S. in Mining Engineering (1996). Before working at Foard, Mr. Koch worked for Suffolk Public Schools as a teacher's aide; he then returned to school and worked for Martin Marietta Aggregates as a foreman and office manager. Mr. Koch currently teaches Technology Education, and enjoys the friendly people and "mostly" well-behaved students.

In his spare time, Mr. Koch enjoys boating, playing guitar, community theatre, and motorcycles. He is married to a "wonderful and supportive" woman with four children.

Brad Lael attend CVCC, majored in Turf Grass Management and graduated in 1995. He has a degree in Agricultural Education from N.C. A&T, where he graduated in 2006. Before beginning to work at Fred T. Foard, he served as a golf course superintendent and owned his own landscaping business. He also taught at Davie High School, Bandys High School, and Saint Stephens High School. He now teaches Agricultural Mechanics I and II and Small Engines at Foard.

In his spare time Mr. Lael enjoys playing golf and watching the Florida Gators and Dallas Cowboys play football. He is married with two daughters, Kelsie and Joslyn. He loves Foard because it's his old school.
