Governor's Page Program

The Governor's Page Program enables students ages 15-18 to learn about state government for one week terms throughout the year.  Pages have different responsibilities such as delivering legislative bills, filing, assisting with mass mailings, answering telephones and observing staff meetings.

Pages have the opportunity to tour landmarks, attend press conferences, observe commission meetings and participate in a discussion with the Governor.

While students are responsible for ensuring their own housing, they are paid $150.00 at the end of the week.  Applications are available year round from the Governor's Page Program web site.

Catalyst Conference

Each year, the Catalyst Conference brings a selected group of 80 high school student from across North Carolina to UNC Chapel Hill for a weekend long exploration of social justice issues affecting both American and the larger world. Through leadership and personal development sessions, we aim to empower participants to they can serve as catalysts for positive change in their own communities. Some other objective include: an opportunity to learn from others transcending racial, ethnic, religious and gender boundaries, an open forum for discussion of issues, a place for empowerment to combat apathy threatening the future of youth, a network of peer support, and a transformation for personal change!
