Fred T. Foard Counseling Department Mission 

The mission of the Fred T. Foard Counseling Department is to focus on removing academic, social, emotional, and systemic barriers to advocate for all students to prepare to be responsible, culturally aware citizens and lifelong learners. We will accomplish this by providing and evaluating a relevant comprehensive guidance program each year implemented by professional school counselors who work with students in academic, social/emotional, and career domains that contribute to student learning and achievement.

The counseling office is open on Monday through Fridayfrom 7:45am until 3:30 p.m. for
parents and students, please call for an appointment after hours.

Announcements

- There will be a Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents on Monday. November 21st at FTF.  There will be a representative from the College Foundation of North Carolina.

- Any sophomore or junior wanting to take the PSAT on Saturday Oct. 15th at Foard needs to sign up in the counseling office.  This is the only time the PSAT will be given this year.

-Any senior that plans on going to a 4-year college after high school that has not taken the SAT needs to sign up ASAP for the October and/or November date. 

-Any Senior who has made arrangements to GRADUATE EARLY please come see Mrs. Floyd in the Counseling Office in order to verify your contact information. This is very important for making sure you receive all Senior information during the Spring semester.

-SENIORS!!! As of January 1, you can begin completing your FAFSA (Financial Aid) form for college. If you have any questions or need help please see your counselor and remember FAFSA DAY is coming on February 21 at CVCC. Look for more information soon.
