• Catawba Elementary is hosting an afternoon for your students to stay after school. They will be supervised by teachers and staff members while they watch a movie with a snack.  Movie choices will be: “Home” Rated PG or “Rio 2“ Rated G, After the movie has ended the students will be served pizza and a drink in the cafeteria. This will take place on December 4 from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.  The cost for each student will be $5 to cover the cost of the snack, drink, and pizza.  Any leftover proceeds will go toward funding the 6th grade trip to Raleigh, NC.  Plan to pick-up students in the bus parking lot area at 5:45pm.

From the Principal

  • Welcome to the Catawba Elementary Website. Catawba Elementary is located just south of the Town of Catawba. The school was build in 2007 and currently serves approximately 480 students in Pre-K through 6th grade.

My name is Todd Sudderth, principal of Catawba Elementary. I have been the principal here since February of 2012. I earned my bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in 1988 and my master's degree from Gardner-Webb University in 2002.
The teachers and staff of Catawba Elementary work very hard everyday to educate students. They demonstrate an unwavering desire to help and educate the students assigned to them every year. We also encourage parents to get involved in the school programs and activities. Catawba Elementary offers opportunities for parents to volunteer in classes, help with our PTO, and participate in our Parent Advisory Meetings during the year.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please be sure to call the school at 828-241-3131.
