The 2011-2012 school year is my twenty-seventh year of teaching English at Bunker Hill. I have taught English at every grade level, but I have most frequently taught English I. This year I am teaching English III and English IV, and I have a new classroom--room 309 on third hall--Mr. Lesosky's old room.
For the first eleven years of my tenure at BHHS I was yearbook advisor--that was fun, but I wouldn't want to do it again. Too much has changed about yearbook production--we used to draw the page layouts and crop the pictures by hand. Now all of that is done much more efficiently on the computer. I didn't give up teaching yearbook until Mr. Kurt Sigmon, one of my former yearbook editors, came back to BHHS to take it off my hands.
My husband Johnny, also an English teacher, taught at Fred T. Foard for thirty-four years. He retired at the end of the 2002 school year. Together, he and I have three children, ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. My hobbies include reading, needlework, jewelry-making, making various crafts, watching sports and movies on TV, and going to grandchildren's sporting events.
