Hi,
My name is Brian Hefner.  I wanted to take just a moment to tell you about who I am and how I came to be the principal of the best school in North Carolina.  I am a native of Catawba County and a graduate of St. Stephens High School.  After I graduated high school I attended Appalachian State University where I majored in Elementary Education.  Following my time at ASU I did my student teaching at Sweet Water Elementary and did a brief interim teaching second grade at Murray Elementary.  Then I got my first real teaching job at Blackburn in sixth grade.  I taught sixth grade for fives years and during that time obtained my Masters in School Administration from ASU.  I was the Assistant Principal for one year at Fred T. Foard High School and three years at Oxford Elementary.  I love to spend time with my family and truly enjoy working with all the students, staff, and parents.  I currently live in Conover with my wife and two children.  Our family pet is a beagle named Mackenzie.
