Banoak Book Exchange

In celebration of Read Across America Day, Banoak is planning to host a Book Exchange. Over the next few weeks, students and teachers are welcome to bring to school gently used books (covers intact, no torn pages) from home that they have outgrown or read many times and no longer need. We all have books at home that our children no longer read. This is a perfect avenue to put those books in the hands of a child who will read them. Please be sure these are children’s books age appropriate for K-6 students. Sorry, we can’t accept adult books. These books will be available in the media center for your child to choose when they come with you on Tuesday, March 1st for Reading Parent Night at Banoak. Nothing is more exciting than the smile on a child’s face when they are holding a “new” book. Thank you for helping us keep reading exciting in our students’ lives.

 Summer Reading Program

Banoak Nights at the Public Library

Our summer reading program was a huge success! A big thank you to all parents who brought their children out to the Southwest Branch library for our Banoak Nights at the public library. We all enjoyed stories, games, crafts, and goodies that were presented to the children. We hope to make this an annual event. Plan now to bring your children next summer to the Southwest Branch library for Banoak Library Nights.

 Fall Book Fair Coming Soon

 Fall Book Fair

Banoak's Book Fair will be held this year on Oct. 4-8 (M. - Th.) Monday (4th) the children will create their Wish Lists. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are "buying" days. Monday evening is our traditional "Parent Event" this year from 3:00 - 6:00. This is a great time to bring your child's Wish List and purchase Christmas gifts.  Volunteers will be needed and are welcome. Please contact Mrs. Gladden at Banoak if you would like to help with our Book Fair.
