Students are provided honors and rewards through a variety of ways during the school year.  Students are honored for the following:

Star Students

Nominations conducted monthly based on character education traits.  Nominations are posted in the school with written descriptions provided by teachers.  These students attend a reception hosted by the school counselor, honoring them for their nomination and character.

Terrific Kids

Balls Creek Terrific Kids are sponsored by the Hickory Kiwanis Club.  Each quarter, students are chosen by their teachers and are recognized during a school wide assembly.

Perfect Attendance

Coming to school is one of the most important things we do.  Students are honored for perfect attendance each nine week period and at the end of the school year for the entire school year.

Academic Achievement

Academic achievement is the core focus of our school.  Students are recognized each quarter for A and AB Honor Roll.  IN addition, students are honored for the A and AB honor roll for the year.

Achievement Award

The Achievement Award is given to sixth grade students during the final awards ceremony for the year.  This award is based on cumulative AB grades for grades three through six.  Students must have an AB grade point average for each year and cumulatively in order to receive this recognition.

Principal Award

The Principal Award is the highest recognition a student can receive at Balls Creek.  This award is given to sixth grade students during the final awards ceremony for the year.  This award is based on cumulative A grades for grades three through six.  Students must have an A grade point average for each year and cumulatively in order to receive this recognition.  The Principal Award is a trophy provided to each student for this accomplishment.
