This Week at Balls Creek

  • Special Announcement from Dr. Stover

As you know we have had several students absent in the past few weeks - in some cases between 10% to 15% at some of our schools.  We are aware that this is flu and strep season, and we wanted to inform you of the things we are doing to disinfect our schools.

    *  Our custodians and staff are disinfecting desks, knobs, restrooms, etc. each day and night.

    *  Schools that have experienced multiple days of a 10% absence rate or higher - the district will be sending additional personnel armed with spray equipment to spray and wipe down surfaces throughout the school.

    * All sprays used are hospital grade disinfectants to kill the germs each day and night.

Our schools have been encouraging extra hand washing for students and staff as our Blackboard Connect message indicated last week.  We also ask that as parents you remind your students to wash their hands several times a day and we ask that you do not send your children to school with a fever.  Children need to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.

Thank you for helping to keep our schools clean and safe!

Our Book Exchange Fundraiser will run February 13-17.  All classes have two assigned "shopping" times througout the week.

Wednesday, January 15 is an early release day.  Students will be dismissed at 12:30.

Please continue to help us raise funds for our JUMP ROPE FOR HEART campaign!

Donors Choose provides a way for teachers to gain access to classroom resources that are otherwise unavailabe.  When you support our teachers on Donors Choose, you know exactly what you are providing for the students at Balls Creek.  Click here to support us on Donors Choose!

From The Principal

  • Welcome to Balls Creek Elementary! My staff and I are very excited to begin another school year. We have lots of new and exciting opportunities planned for our students this year. We have added a STEAM lab where all students will participate in active and engaging hands-on learning. We are also creating a Maker Space in the media center. Keep watching as the transformation unfolds!

At Balls Creek we are committed to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for your student. We encourage all parents to get involved. Contact your child's teacher for opportunities to volunteer.
