Personal Background

I graduated from East Carolina University in 1990 with a degree in Interior Design.  GO PIRATES!!!!!  I then attended Appalachian State University and received a degree in Middle Grades Education in 1992.  I began my teaching career at Grandview Middle School and moved to Mountain View Elementary School.  I missed teaching middle school students and decided to work at Arndt where I have been teaching science since 1997.  I have taught seventh and eighth grades while at Arndt.

I am married with two children, Maggie and Jake.  When I'm not at school teaching, I'm probably attending one of their sporting or other extra-curricular events.  We have a beagle named Belle and a cat named Tonks.  I especially enjoy the summer when I get to spend more time with all of them!  In what little spare time I have, I enjoy being outdoors, walking, and reading.

Science was always one of my favorite subjects in school.  I especially love earth science and life science.
