The 2008-2009 MathCounts Team competed in the Western North Carolina Regional competition in February. Out of the 29 schools competing, Arndt finished in 6th Place, only one spot away from qualifying for the state competition. The members practiced for the competition by meeting at 7:15 a.m. once a week and completing high order math problems as a team and on an individual basis.
