  POLICIES FOR CATAWBA COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONALS

 

The following policies have been approved by the Catawba County Association of Educational Office Professionals:

Date Approved Policy  
04/05/79 Voted to have a Contact Committee consisting of one person from each high school district and one from the Central Office.  Purpose:  communication and means to get information out to members quickly.  
04/05/79 Voted to meet quarterly on the 1st Tuesday in August, November, February, and May at 7:30 p.m.  Group voted that the host would be responsible for the program and refreshments.  **changed 08/10/82  
08/10/82 Voted to change quarterly meeting from 1st to 3rd Tuesday in August, November, February, and May.  
11/15/83 Voted that only "dues paying" members be able to participate in local EOP activities after December 1 of each year.  
March 1984 The executive committee and Dr. Floyd made a rule "in order" to be reimbursed for attending the annual conference, you MUST attend at least one workshop each day and MUST attend the PSP Awards and the Administrator's Banquet.  
09/13/84 Dr. Floyd approved a two-step salary increase for any EOP who received an Advanced Associate I or higher PSP certificate from NCAEOP.  
05/23/86 Dr. Floyd informed us that we must renew our PSP certificates every 5 years as required by the State Association in order to retain our salary increase.  
02/24/87 Procedure for when a member retires or resigns:  
  Years of Service       Remembrance  
  Less than 5               Card  
  6-12 Years               An item to be determined at the time - value $10  
  Above 12 Years       An item to be determined at the time - value $15-$20  
05/19/87 Voted to increase dues to $6.00 for active and associate members and $5.00 for retired members.  
05/19/87 Dr. Floyd was presented Honorary Membership (approved by vote on 02/24/87)  
02/21/89 "EOP's will submit names or name of Administrator(s) who will be invited to the luncheon.  Each Principal will be invited.  The invitation will come from the organization rather than the EOP.  The cost of the luncheon will then be prorated."  
11/14/89 Voted to begin an EOP Scholarship in the amount of $50.00 available to any local EOP furthering her education.  
05/22/90 "Each EOP would invite her "boss", then invitations would be sent to all administrators and principals.  When R.S.V.P.'s are received, the dollar amount for the luncheon will be prorated between EOP's attending."  
05/22/90 Voted to have membership card for local paying members.  
05/22/90 **"To have a raffle at each quarterly meeting to increase our treasury.  These items would be donated from area merchants and raffled to attending members only."  
11/13/90 **"Voted to hold a raffle at each meeting to help increase our Scholarship Fund."  
08/10/90 Voted that "roll call" at meetings be of members only.  
05/21/91 Voted to have Administrator's Breakfast instead of luncheon.  
11/16/93 Voted you must be a member of the local organization to attend the conference and be eligible for any reimbursement.  
02/20/96 Procedure for when a member retires or resigns:

  Less than 5              Change from card to $10  
  6-12 Years              An item to be determined at the time - change value from $10 to $20  
  Above 12 Years      An item to be determined at the time - change value from $15-$20 to $30-$40                        
     
  Births - acknowledgement in newsletter/card/floral arrangement - $15  
     
  Deaths - notification in newsletter/floral arrangement with card and/or card and memorial - $25  
     
  The above (resignations, retirements, births, deaths) would include all active, associate, and retired members.  Births would include members only, and deaths would include members and their immediate family (spouse, son, daughter, mother or father).  
02/12/02 Procedure for when a member retires or resigns:  
  Years of Service       Remembrance  
  Less than 5                $20  
  6-12 Years                An item to be determined at the time - value $30  
  Above 12 Years        An item to be determined at the time - value $40-$50  
     
  Births - acknowledgement in newsletter/floral arrangement - value $25  
     
  Deaths - notification in newsletter/floral arrangement with card and/or card and memorial value $30-$35  
     
  Marriage - acknowledgement in newsletter and gift - $25  
     
  The above (resignations, retirements, births, marriages, deaths) would include all active, associate, and retired members.  Births and marriages would include members only, and deaths would include members and their immediate family (spouse, son, daughter, mother or father).  
     
5/19/05 Voted to increase membership dues for active and associate EOP members from $6 to $10.  

02/27/08    Clarification in EOP policy regarding "Years of Service" when a
                  member retires or resigns.  In the policy for Procedure for When
                  a Member Retires or Resigns,  change "Years of Service" to EOP
                  Years of Service".
