CONSTITUTION OF THE CATAWBA COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONALS

 

ARTICLE I    NAME

The name of this organization shall be the Catawba County Association of Educational Office Professionals.

ARTICLE II    GOAL

The goal of the Catawba County Association of Educational Office Professionals is dedicated to the achievement of the professionalism of educational office personnel and to the improvement of the quality of service provided for students, educators, and the community.  The Association shall strive to elevate the standards of educational office professionals by the exchange of information, ideas, and ideals.

ARTICLE III    MEMBERSHIP

Section 1    Membership in this Association shall be of five classifications:  active, associate, institutional associate, honorary, and retired.

ARTICLE IV    OFFICERS AND THEIR ELECTIONS

Section 1    The officers of the Association shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer.

Section 2    A slate of officers shall be presented by the nominating committee.  There shall be an opportunity for nominations from the floor.

Section 3    Each officer shall be elected by a majority of votes cast.

Section 4    Officers will be elected yearly in February.  All elected officers shall be elected for a term of one year, and shall be eligible to serve no more than two consecutive terms in the same office.

ARTICLE V    MEETINGS

The meetings of the Catawba County Association of Educational Office Professionals shall be held quarterly at such time and place as shall be determined by the Association.

ARTICLE VI    AMENDMENTS

Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed in writing by any member of the Association to the President.  Such amendment, or amendments, shall become a part of this Constitution when adopted at a special meeting of the Association by a two-thirds vote of those present.

ARTICLE VII    PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY

The rules contained in the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised shall govern the Association in all cases to which they are applicable.

ARTICLE VIII    EFFECTIVE DATE

The Constitution shall become effective immediately upon the approval of the membership.
